Experience straight from the production floor

Andrzej deals with numbers that most companies are afraid of. We're talking about ESG reports and carbon footprint. He joined Silesia Profit Solutions in February 2019, when the topic of ecology in industry was just starting to pick up speed. He doesn't write pretty fairy tales about saving the planet. Instead, he calculates how much a company will pay in penalties if it doesn't start measuring CO2 emissions right now. His approach is simple: a report is meant to be a cost-cutting tool, not just paper for an office.

Before moving into consulting, he spent 14 years in industrial plants in Upper Silesia. He worked close to production, so he knows that on the floor time and results count, not colorful brochures. This experience allows him to talk to financial directors practitioner-to-practitioner. He understands why the electricity invoice in August was 23.4% higher and how to correctly enter that in a report for a foreign contractor so as not to lose an order.

Andrzej's main task is to ensure our clients don't fall out of the supply chain. Large corporations from Germany or Scandinavia require hard emission data from every supplier in Katowice or Gliwice. Andrzej prepares these summaries so they pass every control. In the whole of 2023, he closed 43 such audits. Each was accepted by external auditors in the first round, without redundant corrections.

He doesn't use generic formulas from the internet. If he goes to a client, he enters production and checks the meters himself. In October 2024, he helped a medium-sized tool shop save 84,200 PLN annually. He did this thanks to better settlement of reactive power, which incidentally lowered their carbon footprint by 6.7%. These are concrete amounts that stay in the company's pocket instead of going to the energy supplier.

Andrzej believes in the principle: zero redundant tables. A report should be short, clear, and ready to be sent to a bank or contractor. If you need a CBAM certificate or must calculate emissions in Scope 1 and 2, he will do it without unnecessary talk. Usually, preparing the first analysis for a plant employing up to 150 people takes him between 9 and 13 business days. He respects the client's time because he knows that on production every hour of downtime is a loss.

Privately, Andrzej is a mechanics enthusiast. For 7 years he has been restoring old motorcycles in his garage in Mikołów. The same precision required for setting an engine comes in handy when calculating carbon footprint. In both cases, a one-comma error ruins the entire end effect. Heads-up: Andrzej always calls back the same day, usually after 3:40 PM, when he finishes site visits in the field.
